El Municipio realizó 5000 cirugías de esterilización canina y felina en lo que va del año
Este sábado, el Dispensario Canino Municipal volvió a abrir sus puertas para la esterilización gratuita de gatos y perros; y en la oportunidad, la directora General de Abasto y Veterinaria, Carolina Silvestre, informó que “en lo que va de este 2018 se concretaron 5000 intervenciones quirúrgicas de este tipo”.
En el marco de las políticas de tenencia responsable de animales que se impulsan desde el Municipio, durante esta jornada, una gran cantidad de vecinos nuevamente se dieron cita en el Dispensario Canino para la esterilización de sus mascotas.
Sobre el tema, la directora Gral. de Abasto y Veterinaria, Carolina Silvestre, comentó que “si tenemos en cuenta las condiciones climáticas, podemos afirmar que el número de personas que se acercaron con sus mascotas fue muy positivo”; y en esa línea, aseguró que “en cada una de las jornadas que realizamos en el Dispensario siempre contamos con el acompañamiento de la gente”.
En ese contexto, explicó que se trata de la cuarta jornada masiva que se lleva a cabo en el mencionado lugar; y por otra parte, también se refirió al trabajo que se hace semanalmente en los tráileres de castración gratuita, dispuestos en zona norte y sur de la ciudad.
Al respecto, aseguró que “con estas dos estrategias de acción, realizamos 5000 cirugías en lo que va de este 2018, superando ampliamente el número alcanzado correspondiente al mismo período durante el año pasado”.
En ese sentido, Silvestre dijo que “en los últimos meses se fortaleció el trabajo de castración gratuita de perros y gatos, como medida para poner freno a la superpoblación de mascotas. Asimismo –continuó- aprovechamos estos espacios para concientizar a la comunidad acerca de la importancia de una tenencia responsable, en la que cada dueño responda por los actos que protagoniza su gato o perro”.
Por último, recordó que “todas las semanas se dispone de dos tráileres para la castración gratuita, uno posicionado en zona norte y otro en el sector sur de la ciudad, que funcionan de forma itinerante en los barrios, para que todos los vecinos puedan practicarle esta cirugía sus animales”.
“Son muchos los esfuerzos que se hacen desde el Municipio para que la gente pueda acceder a la castración felina y canina gratuitamente y vamos a continuar trabajando de esta manera porque tenemos un fuerte compromiso para con esta demanda”, concluyó la directora de Abasto y Veterinaria.
